Our History
The International Society for Ceramics in Medicine (ISCM) was officially founded on October 5th, 1997, in Paris, based of the International Symposium on Ceramics in Medicine which has been annually organized since 1988.
The purposes of the Society are to advance the sciences of bioceramics and clinical applications at an international level, and to promote good fellowship among its members.
Those who are interested in basic or clinical research on ceramics in medicine may become members of the Society upon acceptance by the Executive Committee and by paying the annual fees. Once every year the Congress of the Society is organized by the President at the chosen location and approved by the Executive Committee. ISCM funding arises from dues, contributions, endowments and sponsorship.
